Wes joined Danwood in December 2012. Wes has been MD of a number of multi-site service and rental businesses. He spent ten years at Thorn UK where he was MD of its metered TV rental business. At Andrews Sykes plc, he led their plant hire and temporary accommodation operation, Cox Plant through a turnaround. Whilst with Rank plc, he was MD of Rank Leisure Machine Services Ltd, its amusement machines rental business. More recently he was interim CEO at JLA, the UK’s largest supplier of rented commercial laundry machines.
Wes is a chartered accountant with an MBA from Reading University and is married with three young daughters. In recent years he has, for pleasure, attended evening classes on Irish history and political philosophy. He is an enthusiastic, but perennially disappointed, golfer.
Gerry joined Danwood in July 2012. Since 2007, Gerry has undertaken senior finance roles with large corporations including Mitchells and Butler, Laing O’Rourke, AECOM (a US Corporation with revenues of c.$8 billion) and Alghanim a conglomerate based in the Middle East.
Prior to 2007, Gerry held senior finance positions with companies in the IT and Telecoms sectors including the position of Deputy CFO with COLT Telecom and Divisional Finance Director with Unisys.
James was appointed Chief Sales Officer effective 1st October 2014 reporting directly to the CEO. James is responsible for all Group Sales activity, and is a member of the Group Executive Board.
James joins us from Samsung European HQ, where he led the sales & distribution group for B2B across Europe. Prior to Samsung James served as Senior Vice President of Xerox Services and previously held executive leadership roles with T-Systems, Unisys and EDS.
Mike’s career has centred in the office technology market. Having begun his working life selling office equipment and copiers he then spent many years in senior roles managing independent photocopier businesses in various locations throughout the UK. Mike then spent 16 years in senior management roles within the finance and leasing industry, initially with GE Capital. In 2001, he set up a business for BNP Paribas, which became the recognised UK market leader in office equipment financing solutions, working with over 500 office technology businesses across the UK. Mike’s last role with them was as a UK Board Director and MD of BNP Paribas’s UK Technology Leasing business. Mike joined Danwood in October 2012.
Gary has been selling within the photocopier industry for nearly 25 years, ten years of these working for Danwood. Gary first worked in corporate sales at Danwood before moving to commercial sales and then into public sector sales in 2010. Gary became Public Sales Director in December 2012. Before coming to Danwood, Gary worked as a major accounts manager at Alger Brownless and Court and was a director of DNC, an HP/Konica Minolta reseller.
Douglas joined Danwood in September 2014 from G4S where he was Sales & Strategy Director. He spent the last 7 years driving revenue growth within G4S by focusing on improved sales processes & behaviours as well as putting in place clear customer value propositions. He was also responsible for strategy within the business through market research, new product development and acquisitions was instrumental in developing the company’s technology strategy, including the integration of the systems business and the development & launch of a mobile product to enhance security guards.
Originally a physics graduate, Douglas started his career at Reuters in 1991 as a Graduate Marketing Trainee. Douglas has also worked at IBM, Dow Jones and American Express in a variety of marketing and product management roles.
Chris joined Danwood in October 2004 after completing a BA in Management and joined the Insatsu Chosa print investigation team. A number of roles followed covering Contract Management, Project Management and Professional Services before heading into Corporate Sales in London. In 2010 Chris headed up the London Corporate Sales Team and then in April 2012 took the position of Managing Director for the London Division covering both sales and service functions. Chris joined the Executive Board in November 2012 and now heads up the Corporate Sales sector for Danwood.
Rod joined Danwood in 2003 as Service Director for Ireland after previously working in a range of senior management positions within the IT distribution, e-commerce and services sectors. He has spent the past 5 years based in the UK developing and improving business areas across The Danwood Group companies. In his 27 years within the print and services industry, Rod has developed a broad range of expertise at executive level across a number of fields including technical services. customer services, distribution & logistics, vendor management, acquisitions, general operations, e-commerce, sales management, I.T and implementing successful change management.
An eternal optimist and full of relentless determination, he does not subscribe to the idea of unbeatable problems and does subscribe to the value of energising people to deliver for our customers.
